Japan’s 2023 Tax Reform legislation that includes the IIR was enacted with effect from 1 April 2023.

Japan’s IIR will apply to fiscal years beginning on or after 1 April 2024.

Japan is expected to introduce the QDMTT and UTPR in the future.
